Payroll Improvements  (available only in Peachtree Pro Accounting and higher)

Peacthree 2009 has many improvements to payroll that make it easier for you to set up and maintain your company and employee information.

Easy-to-Use Company Payroll Settings
The improved Payroll Settings wizard walks you through payroll setup and maintenance with easy-to-answer questions. We’ve added support for many additional benefits — including multiple retirement plans, insurance plans, and flexible spending accounts — as well as additional state taxes.
New Employee Features
For richer reporting and better compliance, we now offer new employee fields including suffix, birth date, gender, and rehire date. We now have a Vacation and Sick Time tab on the employee record that you can use to easily vary the time-off options by employee.
Enhanced Reporting
All Peachtree reports now display only the last four digits of the Social Security numbers (example: XXX-XXX-1234) to help prevent identity theft and to comply with state laws. There are other enhancements to the Tax Liability Report that make it easier to use. There is also a new Vacation and Sick Time Report that displays employee-specific time-off information.
Additional Payroll Improvements
Peachtree has made several other improvements to payroll, including:
  • The User-Maintained Payroll Formulas screen is easier to use.
  • You can quickly and easily maintain your state unemployment rate.
  • You can easily change the order of the payroll fields that display on the paycheck.
  • Changing an employee’s pay rate or pay method only affects new paychecks; any existing paychecks remain unchanged.
